Located close to the magnificent cliff walks of Ta Cenc, in the village of Sannat, Gozo, we are pleased to offer this delightful character 3 bed, 3 bathroom 300-400 year old farmhouse.
Surrounded by traditional rubble walls, access to the property is through a private front terrace which leads to the original front door. On entering the farmhouse entrance hall, with its honey coloured stone, and traditional arches, one immediately feels the welcoming ambience of age and character, with tempting glimpses of the pretty courtyard to the rear of the property.
To the left is a cosy, arched combined kitchen and dining room which creates the feeling of cottage living. A charming room to dine in, with hand cut stone walls, original stone shelves, and traditional patterned cement tile floor, and with windows opening onto the totally private and sheltered courtyard.
The courtyard itself takes you back in time, and is full of charm and colour with the many plants including bougainvillea and other succulent plants and climbers. With the gentle trickle of water from the stone fountain, made from original stone irrigation channels, this is the perfect place to chill out.
Off this courtyard via a covered walkway is the main living room, again with its very old hand cut stone walls and traditional arches, once used to house farm animals, and also including a small hayloft. The living room opens onto the pool area, adjacent to which is a very large patio area with a large gazebo, perfect for al-fresco dining and providing dappled shade on those hot summer days. This is a great space for entertainment, or simply for lounging by the pool.
Back in the courtyard there is also a ground floor bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Adjacent to this is a separate guest toilet and utility/wash room.
An external traditional and original stone staircase leads to a spacious terrace landing with stone flooring, perfect for sitting quietly and reading a book, or listening to bird song. Off this there are two further charming bedrooms. The first bedroom, used as the master, also has an ensuite shower. The second bedroom is set up with twin beds, and also has it’s own bathroom, literally three steps across the corridor from the room.
There are cliff walks literally just a few hundred meters from the property, and one can also take advantage of the nearby spa, bar terraces, and restaurant facilities, of the 5 star Ta Cenc hotel.
With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, this charming farmhouse would be ideal both as a full time or holiday home, and also represents a good longer term investment.
